Hongkie Day 5
It's Day 5, a free and easy day for us after the Wong Tai Sin Temple visit. The weather was bad. It was raining since early in the morning. We can't postpone our trip to the famous Wong Tai Sin Temple coz we are leaving the next day.

Photobucket
The view from our hotel room

The MTR station to Wong Tai Sin Temple

It wasn't our luck too, the temple was under renovation. It was moved to the building beside temporary. We queue to bai bai under the rain and left very soon. It's a pity! People say that the fortune teller is very accurate.

We went to the nearby Lung Cheung Mall for our breakfast. If i am not wrong, we went to Ho Ho Congee & Noodle. The breakfast is nice and cheap. We wacked like nobody business. 3 bowls of porridge, a bowl of noodles, a plate of Glutinous Rice 糯米饭, a plate of fried noodles, 2 sets of pork chop set, 1 set of egg sandwich and 4 cups of tea and coffee for only the 4 of us.

Photobucket

After our breakfast, we headed down to the well-known brand biscuit shop, Heng Xiang 恒香老婆饼, for the famous lao po bing 老婆饼 to bring back to Singapore. There are many outlets around HK, but alot prefer this 老字号 outlet located at Wang Jiao 旺角. We bought 4 big bags of biscuit!! =D

PhotobucketPhotobucket
See Jas's satisfied face! hhahaaa...

We went back to hotel to drop all our purchase and head down to the shopping centre, Argyle Mall in Mongkok. Is like Far east shopping centre. Alot of ladies goodies at a reasonable price. Is a must to go for ladies!!!

But anyway, we found this awesome business concept, selling packets of noodles and small packets of side dish like octupus, cuttlefish, egg, etc. Each packet cost (SGD 0.50). You can mix and match. There is one similar store opened in Singapore, bugis village, L2.

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

We went to Causeway bay for shopping and our dinner. Causeway bay looks so much like Japan street. Is beautiful at night!

PhotobucketPhotobucket

We have no idea where to eat, so we went to Satay King located in Causeway Bay for our dinner. As I said in my earlier entry, we prefer the outlet located at Jordan. =) Went back to our hotel nearby for some desserts. The shop famous beancurd and Ja Ja (Mixed bean sweet soup). The beancurd was yummy, the Ja Ja was alittle starchy for us. Wanted to go for another round of desserts in another shop, but we surrendered! hahaa..

Photobucket

Guess what's below? Jas's expression tells u everything! It's the famous SMELLY TOFU!! The guys did not like it after their first try, Jas and me finished everything. Teehee!

PhotobucketPhotobucket

We stroll around Temple street to hunt for food thou we are really full. Bcoz it was our last night, we can't be bothered anymore. Cf happen to see a shop selling buns which was advertised in a TV varitey show, he ordered the famous bun but was out of stock. The very nice boss then treated us his last bun left on his shelf. So nice of hongkie boss.

The curry fishball "ka li yu dan" was yum yum yum! u should give it a try.

Hongkie Day 4-Part 2
We took quite some time to figure out our way to the bus stop to the Peak. There are 2 buses that you can take to go to The Peak, 15 or 15C. Bus 15 is from the bus terminal that brings u directly to The Peak while the bus we took, Bus 15C, is the topless buss that brings us for a short sight-seeing to the Peak tram station (lower). Which means we took the bus to the Peak tram station and transfer to the the tram to reach The Peak. Unfortunally, the tickets were bought seperately but the scenery was nice!

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
We are like the only few who were cam whoring =p

Tickets for the Tram

Photobucket
While waiting to alight the tram, CF was playing with the lil girl outside the window. The lil girl threw a flying kiss to him. so cute!!

We head to the Sky Terrace first. The view was incredibly beautiful. The wind was strong and freezing. One bad thing is that the sun was too glaring. We can't open our eyes to take photos most of the time.

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Next was the Wax Muesum, Madame Tussauds. We spend like the whole day in there happily taking photos. Reminder: 1 Camera Batt is not enough!! Some of the Wax artise look so real. We had so much fun in the muesum!

PhotobucketPhotobucket

See Tom being part of the Royal-Wax family?

Photobucket
Leon Lai look so real!

Photobucket
Don't u think they look alike?

The sky was dark when we finished touring Wax Muesum. Cf suggested to go Lamma Island for seafood. Those who watch "Gems of life" will know this island. Ling B used to bring Yu Sock Qiu to eat beancurd there. This was also the reason why cf insisted to go.

Photobucket

The ferry terminal is nearby the bus stop we took to The Peak. We took the ferry at 1920hrs. See the boarding time and the actual clock time, 2 mins before the ferry left. hahaaa
Photobucket

It was a dark island with nothing but a stretch of seafood outlet.
Photobucket

We decided on the first restaurant, Rainbow seafood restaurant, with more varitey of seafood. The guys do their job while the gals relax. Their seafood looked fresh. We ordered Fried rice, 4 pcs tiger prawns, 4 pcs mantis Prawn, 4 pcs clams and a steam fish. The food was above average but not the bill. It cost us HKD 2000 (SGD 100 each) for a stingy dinner. Our faces was like in shocked state. We were given 4 complimentry ferry tickets. We swear that we will not go back again.
PhotobucketPhotobucket

It was an very bad experience for us =( And my camera failed me after that!

I checked from the reviews on Lamma island seafood, they paid abt HKD 700 for a big feast. We got chopped terribly! For precuation, we should actually ask for the prices for all the seafood before they bring them to cook. Should not be embarrass, afterall we are tourist.

On a side note, there was a man arrested for pouring acid at one of the temple street building. Few local and tourist were injuired in this incident. Our hotel were few street away from there. Luckily we were at The Peak. *phew*

Hongkie Day 4

Woke up slightly later today, went to IFC Mall for another sumptuous breakfast! It was again a dead town there, the shopping centre was still not open. We asked the security gaurds for the best Tim Sum in this shopping centre, they recommended Lei Garden. But the restaurant only open at 11am. We were like hanging around there, cam whoring and chit chatting. It was fun. hahaa..

Searching the route to Yung Kee. They are working hard on the map.

Photobucket
This is like our lucky plaza in HK. The maid's sunday gathering. They just sit along the road side to picnic. They are good!

Before the restaurant open, we decided to forgo this restaurant and head to the famous amos Yung Kee in Wellington Street. We made the right choice! They open at 11am, the place was empty when we reached. A plate of roasted duck, steam chicken, char siew, egg tarts and noodles were delicious. The first time i fall in love with the steam chicken, the fats between the meat and the skin is soft and smooth. It's YUMMY! The roasted duck and char siew were delicious too. And the Egg tarts, U will regret if you miss it! Anyway it is only 3 small egg tarts on a plate, it wont take up too much of your stomach.
